About this course

Elevate your career in process plant technology and manufacturing through studying this qualification. This course extends the expertise gained at the diploma level and will further enhance your career prospects.

During your studies you will learn how to analyse plant performance, equipment and product failures, solve complex problems and manage risk and safety.

You will also improve your ability to communicate with various stakeholders and manage processing teams. This course will broaden your existing skills and knowledge so that you can assist in the development of new products and contribute to plant modifications.

On completion of this course, you may be eligible for associate membership to Engineers Australia.

You may also be eligible for advanced standing into relevant courses at university level.

Students are required to undertake approximately one hour per week of supervised work placement during this course. This placement is undertaken on campus in a simulated work environment. The Australian Centre of Energy and Process Training (ACEPT) centre offers an opportunity to learn in a simulated real-life industry environment as it includes a control room, distillation tower and digital resources relevant to process plant and oil and gas industries.

Admission requirements

  • An IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.

  • Completion of PMA50116 Diploma of Process Plant Technology is required for entry into this course.

Tuition fees

Resource fees

Resource fees are for consumables used by a student in the course of their study e.g. paint, internet use etc. This fee is paid to your college at enrolment.

If your course goes for two semesters or more, the resource fee may not need to be paid in one amount but may be spaced out over the duration of your courses. Your college will advise you of the payment amount each semester.

Material fees

​The Materials fee includes any item that remains the property of a student after the course has been completed e.g. personal protective equipment, tools, text books etc... This fee is paid to your college at enrolment.
