Orientation Details

As a new student you are required to attend this orientation session. You will be advised of important information relevant to your studies.

Students who are studying a vocational course

Before you attend

Before orientation you must create your Unique Student Identifier (USI). All students enrolled at a TAFE college in Australia need a USI, which links your enrolment details and for easy access to your training records and results whenever you need them.

Tuesday 23 January

9.30 am.
Registration from 8.00 am. Course enrolments will take place following orientation, so students need to be available for the entire day.

Wednesday 24 January

9.30 am.
Registration from 8.30 am. Course enrolments will take place following orientation, so students need to be available until 1.30pm.

  2. student visa letter or e-visa;
  3. copy of your Letter of Offer received from TAFE International Western Australia;
  4. receipt of payment of your tuition fees;
  5. money to pay your resource fees;
  6. copy of your USI number (see above); and
  7. pen and paper.

​Orientation date and time

You are required to attend two orientation sessions as below.

1. Tuesday 23 January at Northbridge campus Lecture Theatre, Ground Floor, 25 Aberdeen St Northbridge (entrance via Museum St). Starts 9.30 am (registration from 8.00 am). Course enrolments will take place following orientation, so students need to be available for the entire day.
2. In-depth induction on Tuesday 6 February at Northbridge campus, 25 Aberdeen Street, Perth 6000. Starts 9.30am (Registrations from 9.15am). At the in-depth induction:

  • you will receive your unit outlines for your enrolled units;
  • the curriculum of the course and the units will be fully explained;
  • your assessments and examination tasks will be explained in depth;
  • you will attend academic study skills workshops on assignment writing,
    plagiarism and referencing; and
  • you will meet your lecturers and fellow students.

Students in some study areas will be enrolled on this day while other students will be provided with details to enrol at their campus at a later date. Please be aware that the semester dates detailed in your Letter of Offer may vary slightly. Your semester dates will be based on your study timetable and confirmed at the orientation session.
