Our university pathways (also known as UniPathways) can lead you to study at select Western Australian (WA) universities.
The advantages of starting your studies at TAFE include:
- an industry-focused pathway to further study if you do not meet university entry requirements;
- smaller class sizes with extra English and academic support;
- you will gain practical, employment-focused skills that will complement your degree; and
- a potential reduction in your study load, course duration and fees when you enrol into your university degree.

Applying for a TAFE to university package
University packages
When you apply to study at TAFE, you can package an eligible TAFE course with an eligible university degree.
When you do this, you will receive offers from both TIWA and your university. This means you can apply for one student visa, and the university degree will be your principal course.

Credit transfer
Many students choose to start their studies at TAFE, then apply for university entrance towards the end of their diploma/advanced diploma studies and gain credit for the work they have done.
If you are interested in university pathways or packaging, please contact the university to confirm the credit transfers awarded for each course.
Our university partners
TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA) has formal articulation agreements with the following WA universities. These universities give select diploma and advanced diploma graduates entry into a wide range of degree programs, and provide credit transfer (also known as advanced standing) for your previous studies.
Curtin University
Edith Cowan University
Murdoch University
Find a UniPathway and apply today
Explore the formal arrangements between WA TAFE colleges and universities that allow TAFE diploma and advanced diploma graduates to enter a university degree with credit transfer. Before applying, please read the information about university pathways below. You should also look at our TAFE application process page.
If you are packaging a TAFE course and a university degree, your credit transfer will be reflected on your university offer prior to acceptance. If you are choosing a TAFE course on the basis of future credit transfer to university, you should check with the university before making enrolment decisions.
Credit points listed on our website are for current TAFE courses. Please contact us(opens in a new tab) if you would like to check the credit transfer for a course no longer offered by TIWA.
Please note that our information about university credit transfer and tuition costs provides a general guide only. Exact TAFE to university credit transfers and fees depend on a number of factors including your selection of university course and major, and the units which make up the TAFE course at your college. For example, some Curtin University course credit points are indicated by a range, e.g. 100-200 or “up to 400.” Edith Cowan University courses specify “up to” values.
