Which campus are you studying at?
I’m located at the Central Regional TAFE, and I am taking the course HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing. I was not really aware about the regional bursary until I received an email from CR TAFE. It was an original plan that I will take nursing in Geraldton at TAFE, but with the regional bursary it was a huge help for my study expenses.
How have you enjoyed the course so far?
I have been studying the course for about a month now. I really enjoyed the practical exercises that we do inside the classroom. We practice on each other, feeding, taking our blood pressure and so much more. By learning all of this, I guarantee that this will be a big help for my future career as it is developing my skills to be qualified in the field.
How have you found the facilities at Geraldton campus?
With the facilities on the campus, I could not really ask for more. The teachers are very friendly and kind. If you have concerns, they will make sure to provide help. With our practical training, the lecturers are very hands on. They make sure that we all know what to do and we’re up-to-date with everything they teach us.
How long have you been living in Geraldton?
I have been living in WA for a month now and so far, I’m loving it. I think I might say that I love it here more than the Philippines. Being in Australia gives me a lot of opportunities to be successful in life. People here are very friendly, and I haven’t seen any incidents of discrimination. I really love how close to the beach my house is, I can relax there anytime I want.
Have you found a part-time job?
Yes, I’m currently working as a crew member at a restaurant. I’ve discovered that time really flies by if you’re enjoying what you do. I enjoy what I do in my work, preparing coffee, cold drinks, and more.
Would you recommend the regional bursary to other students?
Yes, I would recommend the regional bursary to other students because it helped me a lot and I am sure that it will help you too. This is a great opportunity that you don’t want to miss.
