These courses are developed in conjunction with industry to ensure you gain skills and knowledge that will be valued by employers. ​ A Higher Education Diploma or Associate Degree can provide you with a pathway into Bachelor Degree programs with leading Western Australian universities.

Higher Education Diplomas

Higher Education Diplomas are developed with input from industry and prepare you to be work-ready once completed. They provide a higher level option on your TAFE study pathway, without you having to repeat any previous learning.

Associate Degrees

Associate Degrees can provide you with a unique pathway to higher study opportunities. You can select an Associate Degree as your principal TAFE course as a part of your study pathway, or apply for direct entry. 

Studying an Associate Degree can also lead into further study at university. TAFE Western Australian colleges have articulation agreements with universities, meaning your associate degree could give you direct entry into a bachelor degree program with credit.

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) states that the Associate Degree is equivalent to a Level 6 "Graduates at this level will have broad knowledge and skills for paraprofessional/highly skilled work and/or further learning”​.​

TAFE to University Pathways

Many students choose to start their studies at TAFE, apply for university entrance towards the end of their higher education studies and then gain credit for the work they have done. 

On completion of TAFE and university you will have two qualifications that are attractive to employers and that will give you a competitive edge in the global job market.
