About this course
If you are interested in giving back to the community and want to work in the aged care, community and disability care industries then the Certificate III in Individual Support is a great starting point. This course will teach you the skills to care for people who may be living in community and/or residential care facilities who may require help due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
In this industry, you may also need to follow an individualised plan to support people in their homes, to support people with complex needs and to tailor care and support for clients with increased individual needs. This course combines both theory and practical training and has a compulsory, supervised work placement where you can use all the skills and knowledge gained throughout your studies.
You can continue your rewarding career by studying the Certificate IV in Ageing Support at South Metro TAFE for a further 6 months.
