You will gain the skills to assist the aged with creating a positive lifestyle and with their daily living activities including basic hygiene and mobility needs, working with people from different cultures, the effects of dementia and the management of any related changes, how to empower or re-enable older people, the importance of consumer directed care, how to recognise age related changes to body systems and how to implement effective communication strategies.

Admission requirements

  • For Diploma of Nursing students only - An IELTS score (Academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 6.0 or equivalent is required.

  • An IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent is required.

  • Equivalent to Australian Year 10 is required for entry into this course
