About this course

If so, start by enrolling into AVI40219 Certificate IV in Aviation [Aviation Supervision] and you will be on your way to developing the skills required to manage ground operations at an airport including aircraft refuelling, customer relations and aircraft marshalling.

You will extend your knowledge to be able to coordinate accident and emergency procedures at airports, identify and respond to health safety and security issues and develop the skills needed to communicate effectively in the airline and airport-working environment. You will also acquire valuable experience in operational procedures in the modern aviation industry, including the use of technology and dealing effectively with customers.

South Metropolitan TAFE deliver this course at the Aerospace Training Centre, located at the Jandakot Airport. Students enrolled in this course have access to a fully equipped aircraft hangar facility, which contains various aircraft engines, workshop stations, computer facilities, a flight simulator and a static aircraft.

This course has been developed in partnership with the aviation industry and provides you with a professional, non-flying pathway to an exciting career in aviation. You can further your studies by enrolling into AVI50119 Diploma of Aviation (Aviation Management).

  • An IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.

Tuition fees

Resource fees

Resource fees are for consumables used by a student in the course of their study e.g. paint, internet use etc. This fee is paid to your college at enrolment.

If your course goes for two semesters or more, the resource fee may not need to be paid in one amount but may be spaced out over the duration of your courses. Your college will advise you of the payment amount each semester.

Material fees

​The Materials fee includes any item that remains the property of a student after the course has been completed e.g. personal protective equipment, tools, text books etc... This fee is paid to your college at enrolment.
