North Metropolitan TAFE (NMT) is the Higher Education Provider (HEP) responsible for the registration of this course with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).
TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA) is the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) provider registered by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) to offer courses to international students in Western Australia. NMT is responsible for the training and delivery of the Diploma of Commerce and issue of certification. TIWA is responsible for registration of this course for international students.

About this course

The Diploma of Commerce (Higher Education) is a one year course that, upon successful completion you will be eligible for direct entry into the second year of Curtin University's Bachelor of Commerce.

By undertaking North Metropolitan TAFE's higher education program, you will be supported and given the skills that you need to fully integrate into your second year of university.

As well as course material, you will experience workshops and tutorials to assist you in developing your academic writing and research skills so you will be fully prepared for the move into the university environment.

Admission requirements

  • An IELTS score (Academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5 or equivalent.

  • Equivalent to Australian Year 12.

Tuition fees

TIWA tuition fees are reviewed annually and can be viewed in the Schedule of Fees.

If tuition fees are increased you will be required to pay the new fees as they are introduced.

You will be provided with an indicative Schedule of Fees with your Letter of Offer.

Resource fees

Resource fees are for consumables used by a student in the course of their study e.g. paint, internet use etc. This fee is paid to your college at enrolment.

If your course goes for two semesters or more, the resource fee may not need to be paid in one amount but may be spaced out over the duration of your courses. Your college will advise you of the payment amount each semester.

Material fees

​The Materials fee includes any item that remains the property of a student after the course has been completed e.g. personal protective equipment, tools, text books etc... This fee is paid to your college at enrolment.
