TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA) is the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) provider, for the delivery of training to international students, enrolled in a TAFE course in Western Australia. This nationally recognised course is delivered by a Western Australian TAFE college on TIWA's behalf. TIWA retains responsibility for the quality of the training and assessment delivered by the TAFE colleges and for the issue of certification documentation to students.
About this course
If you enjoy making delicious pastries and cakes, then study the Certificate III in Patisserie. It will give you the skills to work as a Patissier or Pastry Chef in a range of outlets such as Patisseries, Restaurants or Hotels.
You will gain the knowledge and experience to work fast and effectively in a commercial kitchen team and be able to plan, prepare and bake mouth-watering cakes, tarts, petits fours, pastries, and chocolates. This course also covers the standards for food safety programs, hygiene, cleaning and sanitation, first aid and workplace health and safety.
By the end of your studies, you will have a strong understanding in mixing methods and the baking / cooking requirements needed to produce cakes and other pastries using baking equipment and machinery in fully-equipped professional facilities. You will develop creativity, flair and an eye for detail and will be able to create desserts, pastries and speciality cakes.
