About this course
Enhance your specialist skills in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems with this qualification. This course gives you a number of advanced skills during your studies including designing and implementing HVAC systems using computer-aided design (CAD), understanding fluid and thermodynamics principles and the use of psychometric processes.
On completion of this course you will have the knowledge to evaluate thermal loads and performance, analyse noise and vibration, apply energy management principles, build information models and apply engineering mechanics principles. A component of this course also requires you to use mathematics such as calculus, algebra, statistics and probability.
You will be encouraged to register for student membership with the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH), which will provide you with access to a range of industry events and valuable networking opportunities. Be aware that this is an engineering based qualification and will not result in a trade qualification being issued.
The HVAC facilities at Carlisle campus are considered to be Western Australia’s premier centre for heating, ventilation and air conditioning studies. The purpose built facility is among the best in the southern hemisphere.
On completion of this course, you will have a solid foundation to advance your career or continue your studies at university level.
