Student stories

South African student, Jacobus
South Africa

Before coming to Australia, I completed an advanced diploma in digital animation, and wanted to further my studies to get into the digital market workforce with ease. I didn’t want to go to university, but rather study in a more practical environment, being assessed on real workplace skills needed in the industry. Imagine my luck when I found TAFE. The staff and students are friendly, and willing to assist me when I ask them.

Nachi is situated to the right of the image, she's laughing and looking towards the camera. In her right hand is a latte coffee. She's sitting on a brown leather seat with another brown leather seat on her right that's empty. There's a bench in the background with a record player sitting on top. There's a vase with flowers. She wears a black leather jacket and t-shirt. Nachi's hair is down and pulled to the front.

I was drawn to Australia because of the country’s beautiful weather, stunning natural environment, and friendly and welcoming people. Read my story

The image displays a close up of Jessica Parra, from the shoulders, up. She wears a black top. She has brown hair pulled over to the side. She looks intently into the camera. The backdrop is completely grey.

I chose TAFE for its exceptional reputation, high academic standards, and practical approach to learning. TAFE's pragmatic methodology, which emphasises hands on learning and real-world experience, greatly appealed to me.

I really liked the emphasis on the hands-on learning both here at the clinic and the learning that we do out in the field.

The Vet Nursing program is great because they also offer additional assistance to international students.
