South Metropolitan TAFE has been officially recognised by the
World Association of Chef’s Societies (WorldChefs) for its high level
hospitality, culinary arts and pastry training programs.
This means that students enrolling in any South Metropolitan TAFE hospitality qualification will now have the opportunity to apply for one of nine global culinary certification levels.
South Metropolitan TAFE is only the second training provider in Australia to be listed as a ‘recognised school’, joining a world chef community of over 100 official associations, representing more than 10 million professional chefs, worldwide.
WorldChefs is a non-political, professional organisation dedicated to maintaining and improving the culinary standards of global cuisines.
Bernhard Staggl, Portfolio Manager for Hospitality and Culinary Arts at South Metropolitan TAFE, said that South Metropolitan TAFE is extremely proud of its recent accreditation.
This recognition is testament to the high quality training South Metropolitan TAFE provides in the areas of hospitality, culinary arts and pastry” Bernhard said.
“It reinforces the industry respect of our courses, the quality of our facilities and the knowledge and skills of our experienced lecturers.”
By becoming certified the students will have international industry recognition for their skills” Bernhard said.
This is the second international accreditation for South Metropolitan TAFE - the Institute is also the only training provider in Australia to have received
City & Guilds accreditation
