A refurbished simulation hospital was opened recently as part of a new State Government $11 million training campus in Perth's northern corridor that will support the delivery of higher level training.
Officially opening the Health and Wellness Training Campus in Joondalup, Deputy Premier and Training and Workforce Development Minister Liza Harvey said, "The new facilities will allow extra training to be delivered, particularly at Certificate IV and Diploma levels."
The upgrade will enhance students' training in nursing, fitness and recreation, sports, beauty therapy and allied health assistance.
"The simulation hospital gives students studying to become enrolled nurses a strong understanding of what it's like to work in a hospital environment," the Minister said.
"It is fully functional and has the capabilities to provide real support in case of an emergency."
Mrs Harvey said the Health and Wellness Training campus was part of North Metropolitan TAFE, which would provide students with access to more diverse and high-quality training programs.
