South Metropolitan TAFE Orientation

Orientation Details for Semester 2, 2019

As a new student, you are required to attend this orientation session. You will be advised of important information relevant to your studies. You will receive your class timetables and be given a tour of the campus. This will be marked as your first attendance.

Before you attend

Before orientation you must create your Unique Student Identifier (USI). All students enrolled at a TAFE college in Australia need a USI, which links your enrolment details for easy access to your training records and results whenever you need them.

Orientation date and time

All courses except Hospitality:
Orientation is run over 2 days, it is important to keep these two days available.
Day 1 - Tuesday 16 July 2019
8am sharp to 1pm.
Lunch will be provided.
Day 2 - Thursday 18 July 2019
You will also be required to attend Cultural Transition workshop. More details will be provided on 16 July.

Hospitality courses:
Orientation is run over 2 days, it is important to keep these two days available.
Day 1 - Tuesday 16 July 2019
10am sharp to 5pm.
Lunch will be provided.
Day 2 - Thursday 18 July 2019
You will also be required to attend a Cultural Transition workshop and Blackboard (Learning Management System Platform) session at Bentley campus. This will run from 9am to 3pm. More details will be provided on 16 July. Light refreshments will be provided at this session.

Campus transport directions, parking and dining

​Please bring these materials
  1. Passport (or copy of passport);
  2. student visa letter or e-visa;
  3. copy of your Letter of Offer received from TAFE International Western Australia;
  4. receipt of payment of your tuition fees;
  5. money, or bank account details, to pay your resource fees;
  6. copy of your USI number (see above); and
  7. pen and paper.
