South Metropolitan TAFE Orientation

Orientation Details for Semester 1, 2020

As a new student, you are required to attend this orientation session. You will be advised of important information relevant to your studies. You will receive your class timetables and be given a tour of the campus. This will be marked as your first attendance.

All courses except Hospitality

Orientation is run over two days, it is important to keep these two days available.

Day 1: Tuesday 28 January 2020
Time: 08.00 am sharp to 1.00 pm
Place: 130 Murdoch Drive, Murdoch - In the foyer directly outside the campus Library
 
Please remember to bring your passport, copy of Confirmation of Enrolments (CoE), receipt of fees, bank account details, pen, paper and your Unique Student Identifier (USI).

All students enrolled at a TAFE college in Australia need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). To create your USI go to usi.gov.au. To find out more about the USI please go to tafeinternational.wa.edu.au/usi.

On Orientation day you will be advised of important information relevant to your studies and be enrolled into your course and receive your class timetables. For students studying at other campuses, you will be provided details on where to report on your first day of class. Lunch will be provided.

Day 2: Thursday 30 January 2020
You will also be required to attend a Cultural Transition workshop on 30 January 2020. Details will be provided at Orientation, it is important to keep these two days available.                

Hospitality courses

Day 2: Thursday 30 January 2020
Time: 09.00am to 3.00pm
Place: Bentley campus, Hayman Road – Room B2428

The Cross Cultural Transition workshop will be held from 9.00am to 11.00am. Following this workshop, you are required to attend training in Blackboard (your Learning Management System Platform) to familiarise yourself with this application before your course commences on 3 February 2020. Light refreshments will be provided.
