Accessibility

This is the official accessibility statement for the TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA) website, which provides access to information and services for international students at TIWA and Western Australia (WA) Government schools.

We are committed to making TAFE and WA Government Schools information and resources accessible to all users.

What is accessibility?

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has produced the Website Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0)(opens in a new tab) to assist website designers, developers and administrators in producing accessible pages and content. There are three levels of accessibility compliance; Level A, AA and AAA.

Accessibility features

The accessibility features currently available include:

  • increasing or decreasing the text size (via the user's browser);
  • 'skip to' links and a logical tab order to navigate using assistive technologies; and
  • printer-friendly content.

Alternative formats for content

If we have produced a document or other content in a format that is not accessible to you, please Contact us(opens in a new tab) and we will be happy to discuss your needs and, where possible, provide an alternative format of the content.

Languages other than English

As a WA State Government agency, the Department is committed to ensuring that people who are not able to communicate effectively in written and/or spoken standard Australian English are able to access the information and services we provide. A range of supports, including interpreter and translation services, are available to assist — please visit the Office of Multicultural Interests website(opens in a new tab), to find out more.

Accessibility issues

If you have difficulty accessing information on any of our pages, please contact us(opens in a new tab) and provide links to pages and outline your requirements. We will try to supply the information to you as required.

Please note that TIWA cannot take responsibility for the accessibility levels of external websites linked to from this website.

Text size

Your internet browser has the ability to make the text larger or smaller on this site (or on any website you visit) by changing the settings on your computer.

To check which internet browser is installed on your machine:

  • open your internet browser;
  • select Help from the top menu of your browser;
  • select About (followed by your browser name) from the drop down list; and
  • the screen that comes up will display which browser and version you are using.

This Web Accessibility initiative web page has instructions on changing text size and colours(opens in a new tab).

Breadcrumbs

Website breadcrumbs help you to determine the location of the page that you are currently viewing.

The 'crumbs' progress from the highest to the lowest level from left to right, ie starting with the home page and ending with the currently viewed page.

Printing pages

To print content from this website, simply use the print function of your internet browser. The print function is usually located under the File menu of your browser.

When a web page is printed, it will print the title and location of the page as well as the content. Navigation menus and banners are automatically removed for your convenience to improve readability on paper.

The default contrast for printing is black text on a white background. Any unnecessary images should be removed. It is recommended you use the print preview function of your browser if it is available.

You can search this site to find the information you require using keywords. There is also an option to visit the whole of WA Government search.
